Strike Action 28 January 2026

We have an update on the UNISON industrial action which is scheduled to take place on:

28 January 2026   /   5 - 6 February 2026    /    9 - 13 February 2026

By law, our staff do not have to tell us in advance if they are striking. We have asked them to volunteer this information but unfortunately
they have chosen not to do so.

In light of this, we are having to assume that all members of UNISON will be striking and will not be in work on the above dates. This means
that we will not have enough staff on site to operate the school safely, and have no choice but to close the school to children on
Wednesday 28 January 2026.

We very much hope we can resolve the dispute and have made clear to UNISON that our doors are open to further discussion. As noted in
our last update to you, we have genuinely listened to staff concerns about their pay, and whilst we are not able to agree to UNISON’s
demands, which would see a 12% increase in pay for all support staff, we have made an offer which would see teaching assistants receive a
significant pay increase, dating back to September 2025. Together with the annual pay award in April they would receive, this amounts to at
least a 7% increase. Unfortunately UNISON has rejected our offer and restated their demands for an allowance for all support staff.

Should anything change in UNISON’s position which means that we can open the school on Wednesday - whether partially or in full, we will
update you.

We remain committed to resolving the dispute and will do everything we can to encourage UNISON to consider their position once again,
including with support from ACAS, the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service. We will provide a further update next week about
arrangements for the proposed strike dates on 5-6 February and for the period 9-13 February.

As ever, the education and care of your children is our priority; we apologise for the inconvenience you are being caused.

Should you have questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
